Introducing the kids in your life to the shooting sports can be a fun and exciting activity. Maxon is here to make sure that kids are introduced to the shooting sports in a safe and educational environment. Let Maxon instructors make sure that your child’s first experience at a gun range is safe, controlled, and structured. This classroom discussion is designed for kids age 6-14. Although there is no shooting component to this seminar, parents are encouraged to abide by the range use policies for kids at Maxon. There are as follows:
- Child must be at least 50 inches tall
- Child must be physically strong enough to safely handle firearms
- Child must have the attention span and maturity to follow instructions
This 2 hour classroom discussion will include the following topics:
- Eddie the Eagle rules for guns and young children
- Four firearm safety rules and why they are important
- Debunking the use of guns in video games/TV/Movies
- What to expect when visiting the shooting range, along with a tour of the range
There is no shooting component to the class however, all participants will receive a voucher for a FREE 1-hour private instruction lesson with a Maxon Instructor. (value $40)
There is no pre-requisite to attend this seminar. Parents do not have to posses a FOID card. All children under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
